Can I let you in on a secret? Weddings are so much fun! To attend that is. Planning a wedding is another level of craziness, decision making, stress, excitement, frustration and ahhhhhh!!!! Some couples are ready to jump on the crazy train, but many people are not up for the insanity it inevitably brings along with it. And most people don’t have the spare time to do it all. That's where we come in. Cue the whimsical music montage that instantly takes away any stress as it is the time to hire a wedding planner! Kim Ebeling (That’s me!) is the owner & Chief Planner at Ebeling Events (that's us!). I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, producing events from intimate parties to large corporate celebrations and everything in between. Many people have commented that I thrive in the space of making things happen. After working for Karl Strauss Brewing Company for 2 years and The Walt Disney Company for 11 years where I became a Sommelier and obtained my MBA, I decided to go out on my own. Now I work from our base in Malibu, CA and bring passion, precision and a calm to the events we produce while focusing on every last detail, treating your event and guests as my own.
You know what else I thrive in? Surrounding myself with amazing people. My team and I have a lot of fun when it comes to event days because we have a detailed plan on how the days will go. Minute by minute. We know it will not be perfectly followed to a T but it gives us such an amazing foundation to support any last minute changes or tweaks that need to be made in order to pull off the event of your dreams. Our focus is on weddings, nonprofit fundraisers and hosting wine tastings. However, we plan, design and produce any and all events including celebrations of life, birthday parties, Mitzahs, Quinceañeras, baby showers, Christmas parties and so much more!
One of our favorite events was our last wedding. Wait – how can I pick a favorite (it’s like saying which kid is my favorite!)? Well, this wedding had special meaning as we were brought on to not only plan the wedding, but also help design the backyard to rebuild it after the Woolsey fire. Many of our friends lost everything in the fire last year and this felt very good to give back to a family who had suffered damage as a result. Helping in every aspect to ensure the backyard was ready for this wedding was extra special and with the help of the landscape team, it turned out just as we envisioned it could be.
